The Gothenburg Award ceremony is held on 14th of December 2011 in Eriksbergshallen.
The award, which is one million Swedish crowns, is administrated and funded by a coalition of the City of Gothenburg and eleven companies.

The Gothenburg Award is the city’s international prize that recognises and supports work to achieve sustainable development – in the Gothenburg region and from a global perspective. Every year, an independent jury decides upon a laureate which has contributed to sustainable development within the criteria for the award.
