The jury is independent and has seven members:
John Holmberg (Chairman).
John Holmberg became the Chairman of the Jury in 2010. He has a Ph.D. in Physical Resource Theory and is a professor and Vice President at Chalmers University of Technology. He also holds an UNESCO chair connected to the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development and is a member of the UNESCO expert panel. John is also a member of the board of the Swedish Environmental Technology Council (Swentec) and has been active in a corresponding expert panel on eco-efficiency for the EU. He frequently gives lectures at other universities, corporations, authorities, organisations and to the general public. He has been on television and radio and has contributed a number of popular science articles to a wide variety of magazines and newspapers. John’s research was a basis for the work of The Natural Step.
Elin Eriksson
Elin Eriksson, MSc, is Director for Sustainable products, processes and organisations at IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute. She was an early pioneer in system analysis of the environmental performance of products and services. As the leader of projects commissioned by industrial companies and authorities in Europe, Asia and the US since 1990, she has conducted studies within several major industrial sectors, including assessments of potential environmental improvements. She was the CEO at CIT Ekologik, a technology consultant firm within Chamers Industriteknik, based at Chalmers University in Gothenburg, which in 2005 merged with the internationally acknowledged IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute. She has a broad network of contacts, with connections to leaders in industry, academic environmental researchers and authorities in several countries.
Lotta Göthe
Lotta works as a consultant on sustainable development at the company Ecoplan AB where she is one of the owners. She is an Ecologist and Economist who has, among other things, been a member of the Management Team as Environmental Manager at infomedia company Elanders and was responsible for business planning and technical project management at the telematics company Drivec. Lotta has built up a broad base of practical experience by working fifteen years with environmental and ethical matters in both the private and public sectors.
Göran Carstedt
Göran Carstedt is the Chairman of The Natural Step International and was the Senior Director of the Clinton Climate Initiative 2007-2008. He is also engaged in the formation of the Society for Organizational Learning, SOL, Global Network. Dr. Carstedt is also a consultant and coach to various European and U.S. organizations and serves as chairman and board member in several corporations. He was the head of IKEA Retail Europe and member of the IKEA Group Management Board 1990-1997. He served as President of IKEA North America 1990-1995. Before joining IKEA Dr. Carstedt served for many years in different executive positions at Volvo. Dr. Carstedt received his Ph.D. from the University of Umeå in 1974, and an honorary doctorate from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola, Karlskrona, 2007.
Johanna Stål
Johanna has been a member of the jury since March 2010. She is partner and chief editor of Camino – a magazine for a sustainable lifestyle. At Camino she also publishes books, gives lectures and is frequently asked to comment on environmental and lifestyle matters in the media. Johanna, together with the designer Kerstin Sylwan, is the author of the book “Energi – hur design kan göra skillnad” (Energy - How Design Can Make a Difference). Johanna has a degree in Political Science, with a specialization in international politics and environmental issues. She has studied and worked in the U.S.A., Peru and Chile. Johanna is currently on the board of the DinEL environmental fund. Johanna was the youngest person on magazine Miljöaktuellt’s list of the most influential people for the environment 2009 and is one of the magazine Veckans Affärer’s “future leaders”.
Johan Trouvé
Johan Trouvé has a Master of Science in Engineering with a Major in Industrial Marketing. He is currently responsible for Shenkers's Land Freight in the Gothenburg region. He was previously Environmental Manager for the the Shenker Group, Assistande Environmental Manager for the SJ Group and worked as a consultant to the Swedish Technical Attaché System in Los Angeles. He is Vice Chairman in MISTRA and was until this year a member of the government's Committee on Environmental Impact. For the past five years he has been Chairman of the Board of the Swedish Association of Environmental Managers.
Annika Åhnberg
Annika Åhnberg became a member of the jury 2010. She is a former minister of agriculture and of the standing committee of environment and agriculture in the Swedish Parliament She is a member of the Swedish Royal Academy of Agriculture and Forestry and is an Honorary Doctor at SLU (the Swedish university of agriculture). She is now an independent Debater and Consultant within the area of agriculture and food.
